  1. LocalLicious!

“ Eat Local, Drink Local, Spend Local”

There’s just a few days left of LocalLicious! The emphasis to support local is still going strong. SaveHospitalsCA values the urgent need to communicate to all levels of the government about what is happening to our beloved independent restaurants. From now until March 7, 2021 restaurants participating in their event LocalLicious will donate $1 from each meal being sold to a local charity. Check out the list of local restaurants participating here for you next delicious hearty meal.

  2. Virtual Cooking Class with Eataly

While walking down Bloor Street West, it is hard not to take notice of the gorgeous Eataly. Eataly is a play on words that stands for “Eating Italian.” This gorgeous market signifies the history of the food culture of Italy, the preparation behind exquisite dishes and many other qualities that Italy has to offer. Furthermore, they offer virtual cooking classes for some of Italy’s signature foods. All virtual events include all the required items to participate and can be delivered throughout the city of Toronto. Experience  Italy at your doorstep here in Toronto.

  3. Bloor-Yorkville Icefest

Ice sculpting is definitely a craft of its own. Beautiful ice sculptures will be placed in various areas of Yorkville to transform the district into one last call for Winter.  Locals will have the opportunity to follow a self guided, socially distanced ice sculpture trail around Bloor-Yorkville. You can follow the trail in person or online @BloorYorkville and on their Youtube channel. This year’s theme is “ A Trip Around the World.”

  4. Skating

Lace your skates up for one more round before the ice melts! Skating is an awesome winter sport for those that want to get some fresh air and take a break from the home office. We don’t highly recommend skating on a frozen lake and ponds at this time due to safety measures. Reserve a spot and book a rink under The City of Toronto. Most importantly, stay safe, keep warm and follow COVID-19 measures.

  5. Winter Hike

Snow covered trees, footprints in the snow and stunning views are three things we love about the great outdoors. Besides skating, get in touch with your nature side by going on a hike. Hiking helps lower your cholesterol, blood pressure and improves bone density. Here’s a list of hikes by Explore Magazine near Toronto to check out for the weekend. Their list covers details for each location such as the distance, a rough estimate on the time to complete the hike, and why it’s recommended. Make sure you follow COVID-19 rules and restrictions.

  6. Winter Stations

Calling all art lovers! Winter Stations hasn’t been cancelled yet due to the pandemic. Winter Stations is an international design competition held in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is a competition where participants design temporary winter art installations that surround existing lifeguard towers and spaces around Kew and Woodbine beaches. The purpose of displaying these art installations is to encourage a different perspective of a sunny beach in Winter. It is a way to explore the imagination of our concrete jungle. This year the theme for the competition is shelter; a place of comfort and security, to reflect back upon what refuge means to each of us. Check out this year’s winner here and details on it’s reopening.
